Access to be Beach
We would like to be clear about one thing: roads in Costa Rica are tough but doable in most cases. Do not expect USA or Europe Highways. Most roads have only 2 lanes and are unmarked, which makes it tough to drive at night and when it´s raining. That being said, many people tourists drive and are fine with it.

Notes:
Manzanillo Beach is located only about 8 miles south from Puerto Viejo. Manzanillo and whole area in general is simply gorgeous.
Manzanillo is a small fishing village, much less developed than Puerto Viejo and just as beautiful! it has light sand beach lined-up with palm trees and a very calm ocean. Snorkeling on this area is wonderful as it has a beautiful coral reef right as you walk into the ocean. You don´t have to swim far to enjoy it.
Manzanillo in the Caribbean (worth noting as there is another Manzanillo Beach located north of Santa Teresa Beach, much different one from the other) is a laid-back type beach, great place is you wish to be peaceful and enjoy nature.
The food is great, fish always super fresh of course and you must try the Caribbean Rice´n Beans!
Manzanillo is the very last beach connected by the coastal road. After Manzanillo there is only a few dirt roads that lead into the jungle pretty much.
In regards to places to stay, meaning hotels, hostels and vacation rental houses, you will have no problem at all finding places. These whole area is connected by one road that goes from Puerto Viejo all the way down south to Manzanillo. Along the way you will find everything you need. although keep in mind it is not a developed type area.
