We would like to be clear about one thing: roads in Costa Rica are tough but doable in most cases. Do not expect USA or Europe Highways.  Most roads have only 2 lanes and are unmarked, which makes it tough to drive at night and when it´s raining. That being said, many people tourists drive and are fine with it.

Notes on Manuel Antonio:

Manuel Antonio encompasses a hill/mountain that sets high above the Manuel Antonio National Park. Because it’s a hill, you will find the most beautiful views and down below within and right out of the Manuel Antonio National Park[s entrance, the most gorgeous beaches as well. You can just walk around and find beach after beach, all beautiful, so many to choose from!

You will see lots of animals all around. The most famous in the area are the monkeys, remember this: watch out for yours snacks, if you get distracted, one of this little guys will come and take it away! Seriously!

Access to amenities is easy, you´ll find all kinds of great restaurants, delicious coffee shops, grocery stores and a pretty active nightlife. Manuel Antonio is a very gay friendly area; it welcomes gay couples from all over the world, as well as heterosexual families, groups of friends and couples looking for a romantic getaway.

Manuel Antonio is a gorgeous, welcoming, wonderful place and a MUST VISIT SPOT in this country for sure!

Biesanz Beach Review:

Manuel Antonio National Park has awesome hikes which will always reward you with discovering one beautiful beach after another, many of which are unknown except by the adventures. One of these hidden places is a small Cove called Biesanz Beach. You gotta hike down an unmarked path to find it.

If you hike over there, it is better to go early in the morning and always make sure to go back early enough in the afternoon (better if no later than 3pm). The cove can become quite dark because of the high cliffs around it, that being said, it´s well worth it! Snorkeling is GREAT there. You can rent snorkel gear right at the beach. You can also rent kayaks; just make sure to bring cash as no credit card are accepted in the middle of the jungle! 🙂
